Isododecane (and) Polyethylene. TIXOGEL® -IDP by BYK is a fully activated rheology additive based on a polyethylene wax for oil and solvent phases. It is a thixotropic gellant that adds emolliency, imparts water repellency and improves the wear time of formulations. It is also used to suspend pigments and other non-soluble particulates.
- Due to the high melting point of polyethylene, it can help to increase the temperature stability of formulations.
- TIXOGEL® -IDP is vegan and easy-to-use grade that provides stable, predictable, and reproducible thixotropic flow behavior in a variety of solvent-based cosmetic formulations.
