Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil. Acts as an amollient. It is a cold pressed natural oil extracted from the seeds of sunflower. Cold pressing preserves natural antioxidants and nutrients. It has a high level of unsaturated fats but lacks linolenic (< 1%) acid. It is high in linoleic (5.0%), oleic acid (72%), palmitic (5.0%) and stearic (18.0%) acids. It possesses high vitamin E content. It has smoothing properties, considered noncomedogenic and can retain moisture in the skin. It may also provide a protective barrier that resists infection in premature infants. It does not close pores in the skin. Used in skin care products.
