VP/VA Copolymer. Vida-Care™ C VA64W by Alfa chemicals acts as a film former and fixative. It is a 50% aqueous linear, random and non-ionic styling copolymer of 60:40 vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate. It forms hydrophilic, transparent, flexible, thermoplastic and oxygen-permeable films which adhere to many different surfaces.
  • Its relatively high VA content provides high cohesive strength, enhanced humidity resistance while reducing water solubility and minimizing the ‘crunchy’ feel.
  • It offers high compatibility with various formulations.
  • It also shows good compatibility with many modifiers and plasticizers that permit further variation of hygroscopicity and film flexibility.
  • Low viscosity of Vida-Care™ C VA64W makes it suitable for sprayable applications.
  • It is recommended for use in aerosol hair styling products due to good propane/butane solubility.
  • It finds application in formulating aqueous and anhydrous creams, gels, mousse, powders, face-masks – both rinse-off and peel-off, pigmented products to improve adhesion to skin and hair and any application where a smooth, clear, oxygen permeable and water-removable film is required.
  • It has a shelf life of 1 year.
