DMDM Hydantoin and Aqua. Kemidant 2000 by Akema is a preservative. It has very low free-formaldehyde content (0.09% max.) and high stability to freezing temperatures. It has broad pH range, high water solubility, stability and compatibility with other ingredients. It is safer and more stable for storage, offering the same formulation benefits while fully aligning with the requirements of current EU regulations for cosmetics.
  • It is highly effective against both Gram-negative and positive bacteria, as well as active against molds.
  • It does not show any effect on color, odor & viscosity.
  • It is compatible with anionic, cationic and non-ionic ingredients.
  • It is suitable for shampoos, conditioners, gels, mousses, toners, lotions, creams, wipes, foundations, eyeliners, mascaras, powders, sunscreens, suntans, after suns, shower gels, bubble baths, hand cleaners, intimate, powders, surfactants and other blends.
  • It works synergistically with parabens, IPBC, other preservatives, and preservative boosters.
  • It is cost-effective and stable to freezing temperature.
  • Kemidant 2000 is approved in EU, USA, Latin America, China & ASEAN it is allowed up to 0.85% without restrictions.
  • In Japan it is allowed up to 0.42% in rinse-off products with warning label.
