Cosmetics & Personal Care Formulations with Fixatives

Men's Products: This super-holding hair gel shows exceptional clarity at high fixative concentration. Carbopol® Ultrez 21 Polymer gives efficient thickening and further rheology modification.

This pomade formulation provides moderate hold and texture with a stringy rheology. AMPHOMER® polymer yields excellent humidity resistance, while FLEXAN® II polymer combined with PVP gives added hold with longer rheology. AMAZE® starch fixative provides a natural hold with excellent aesthetics and feel.

This non-aerosol hairspray formulation contains AMPHOMER® polymer hair fixative, which provides medium hold and good humidity resistance. DC-556 provides excellent shine.

This Root Lift formulation contains two AkzoNobel fixative polymers, BIOSTYLE® CGP polymer for hold and CELQUAT® LS-50 for hold and conditioned feel. Both polymers are naturally derived creating a more natural and sustainable styling product.

AMP-Acrylates/Allyl Methacrylate Copolymer is incorporated into a crystal clear, weightless styling foam. This product provides strong hold due to the high actives level of the fixative, yet has good properties on wet hair due to the inclusion of PEG-33 and PEG-8 Dimethicone and PEG-14. This styling foam leaves hair with a long lasting hold that remains soft to the touch and free of tack (on both wet and dry hair). In addition, this styling foam has excellent foam quality and foam cell size – created without the use of potentially irritating surfactants.

This molding paste provides firm hold with a moderate gloss finish. The product can be used to sculpt and mold hair while adding texture and volume. AMAZE® starch fixative provides good hold with flexible control, while CELQUAT® SC-230M polymer contributes to the creamy rheology of the paste, provides a conditioning feel, and improves the overall ease of application.

For spikes that won't lie down, this gel is formulated with AMAZE™ XT polymer, which provides unprecedented protection against the negative effects of humidity for long lasting styles. Multifunctional, the AMAZE XT polymer offers both fixative and thickening properties. It also disperses easily in water for quick manufacturing time. FLEXAN® II polymer provides improved gel spreadability, which makes the product easy to work into the hair.

This moderate hold non-aerosol hair spray provides excellent shine to the hair. RESYN® 28-2930 polymer has moderate hold and is cost effective while AMPHOMER® polymer hair fixative provides good humidity resistance.

This alcohol free spritz uses BIOSTYLE™ CGP polymer to provide stiffness and humidity resistance in a more natural working spray system. This water-based formula helps to sculpt and style wet hair and provides medium hold and stiffness when dry. The maltodextrin-derived BIOSTYLE CGP polymer is a low viscosity, easy to formulate liquid that requires no heating or neutralization, giving the formulator a simple way to create more natural and sustainable styling products. This working spray, based on the naturally-derived fixative polymer and containing no alcohol or propellants, is an environmentally-preferable way to create high-performance styling aids.
