Emulsifiers

Category overview

Emulsifiers are milky liquids, fine powders, or waxy solids that stabilize water-oil mixtures, ensuring smooth, consistent formulations in creams, lotions, and serums.

Popular INCI ingredients in this segment include Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, and Lecithin. Natural and multifunctional emulsifiers are trending. Sub-types include oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsifiers. Regulations focus on formulation stability and mildness.

Skin Care: Nature's Cold Cream and Make Up Remover by Koster Keunen

by Koster Keunen

With Nature in mind, we put a spin on the traditional, yet so effective cold cream.

The formula still utilizes
Beeswax as its primary w/o emulsifier, but is borax-free. The main emollient, naturally-derived Kester Wax K-24 #358, is a suitable replacement for mineral oil, having the same slip and film-forming properties. Use daily as a moisturizer, cleanser, or make-up remover.

A formulation by Koster Keunen.
