Toiletries: Clear Roll-On Antiperspirant
by AkzoNobel
This formulation demonstrates the multi-functional effectiveness of the CELQUAT® H-100 conditioning polymer in a clear antiperspirant system. Not only can this cationically modified cellulosic polymer be substantive to skin to enhance product aesthetics, it can also build viscosity in this high electrolyte environment. In this prototype, the CELQUAT H-100 polymer provides a good sensorial feeling and body, even without any additional emollient agent or thickener.
Antiperspirants / Deo-actives
Category overviewAntiperspirants appear as white powders, gels, or clear solutions that work by temporarily plugging sweat glands to reduce moisture and control odor. They provide long-lasting dryness and freshness, making them ideal for deodorants, roll-ons, and sprays.
Popular ingredients in this segment include aluminum-based compounds like Aluminum chlorohydrate and Aluminum zirconium complexes. Low-residue, skin-friendly, and aluminum-free alternatives are gaining traction. Regulatory bodies set concentration limits on active ingredients to ensure safety and skin compatibility.
Toiletries: ROLL-ON EMULSION/ANTIPERSPIRANT – 200402192-60-1
This opaque, oil-in-water system is a typical example of a roll-on antiperspirant emulsion. It uses an enhanced efficacy aluminum chlorohydrate active and, combined with the UCON™ FLUID AP (PPG-14 Butyl Ether), produces an aesthetically pleasing, reasonably priced, formulation for fighting underarm wetness.
