Delivers same skin repair and regeneration mechanisms as traditional PDRN
For decades, PDRN has relied on extraction from salmon reproductive cells, creating inherent constraints in supply stability, DNA sequence randomness, and purity control.
Uniproma's RJMPDRN® REC is a recombinant PDRN developed to address these limitations through bioengineering. Free from animal sources and built on controlled biosynthesis, this ingredient uses biosynthesis technology. Specific PDRN sequences are introduced via recombinant vectors and replicated through microbial fermentation. This eliminates dependence on fish-derived materials while, according to Uniproma, maintaining alignment with EU, U.S., and global regulatory standards.
Unlike conventional PDRN (obtained via non-selective extraction), recombinant technology enables full control over DNA sequence and fragment length, according to the supplier. Short-chain sequences target anti-inflammatory applications; medium-to-long-chain sequences optimize collagen regeneration and skin repair. Industrial-scale scalability is achieved through optimized heat-shock transformation, high-efficiency competent cell preparation technology, and multi-step purification, consistently delivering biomedical-grade purity (≥99.5%), as reported by Uniproma.
A 28-day human efficacy study was conducted on 31 subjects using a 0.1% RJMPDRN® REC aqueous solution.
Day 14 results (in vivo):
- TEWL ↓9.58% (p<0.001)
- Elasticity (R2) ↑19.33% (p<0.001)
- Firmness (F4) ↓13.16% (p<0.001)
- Erythema Index ↓7.11% (p<0.001)
- Wrinkle count ↓40.00% (p<0.001)
- Wrinkle area ↓6.97% (p<0.001)
- Wrinkle length ↓8.14% (p=0.005)
Day 28 results (in vivo):
- TEWL ↓17.37% (p<0.001)
- Elasticity (R2) ↑30.11% (p<0.001)
- Firmness (F4) ↓19.83% (p<0.001)
- Erythema Index ↓12.40% (p<0.001)
- Wrinkle count ↓46.67% (p<0.001)
- Wrinkle area ↓7.44% (p<0.001)
- Wrinkle length ↓11.44% (p=0.002)
According to Uniproma, RJMPDRN® REC delivers the same skin repair and regeneration mechanisms as traditional PDRN, with consistent sequence control, vegan sourcing, and regulatory safety.
