Panthenyl Ethyl Ether is a stable, oil-soluble derivative of Panthenol (Provitamin B5). Unlike regular Panthenol, its ethyl ether form is more lipophilic, allowing better penetration into hair and skin. It is valued for its excellent moisturizing, conditioning, and strengthening properties. This ingredient is widely used in hair care (especially leave-in conditioners and serums) and skincare products to improve hydration, softness, and overall condition without the stickiness sometimes associated with water-soluble panthenol.

Origin

Panthenyl Ethyl Ether is produced synthetically by the etherification of Panthenol (derived from pantothenic acid, Vitamin B5) with ethanol. This modification increases its oil solubility and stability compared to standard Panthenol. It is a clear to slightly yellowish viscous liquid.
