What is CENTAUREA CYANUS FLOWER EXTRACT used for?

Centaurea Cyanus Flower Extract is primarily used in eye and skin care products for its soothing properties. It is gentle on the skin and calms irritation, inflammation, and redness. As an astringent, it provides a toning effect - tightening pores and refreshing the skin without drying it out. This extract also contains antioxidants, such as flavonoids and polyphenols, which strengthen the skin’s natural defenses against environmental stressors. Additionally, Centaurea Cyanus Flower Extract has hydrating properties that enhance the softness and elasticity of the skin. When used in refreshing eye serums, patches, and creams, it helps reduce puffiness and signs of fatigue.

Origin

Centaurea Cyanus Flower Extract comes from the flowers of the Centaurea cyanus (cornflower) plant. The flowers are steeped in purified water, and the mixture is gently heated or left to soak at room temperature. Later, the mixture is filtered to remove plant material, and the liquid extract is preserved and standardized.
