What is ARACHIS HYPOGAEA OIL used for?

Arachis Hypogaea Oil is widely used in cosmetics for its many beneficial properties. Primarily, it is a skin conditioning agent with exceptional emollient properties. It deeply nourishes the skin and leaves it soft and supple. Its vitamin E content provides antioxidant properties to the oil - helping it neutralize free radicals responsible for premature aging of the skin. Peanut oil also strengthens the skin’s natural barrier and elasticity, giving a youthful appearance. Common in hair care, Arachis Hypogaea Oil conditions dry and frizzy hair to make it smoother and manageable.

Origin

Arachis Hypogaea Oil is made by hot-pressing the seed kernels of Arachis Hypogaea (peanuts). The resulting pale-yellow oil is subjected to purification methods in order to remove impurities and make it fit for use in cosmetics.

Safety Profile

Arachis Hypogaea Oil is a natural and safe ingredient. It is even harmless for individuals with peanut allergies as the refining process removes allergenic proteins. However, cold-pressed (or unrefined) oil may retain allergens and should be avoided by individuals allergic to peanuts. Peanut Oil is best for dry to very dry skin and may be too heavy for acne-prone skin. Patch testing is necessary prior to full application.
