What is ACACIA SENEGAL GUM used for?

Acacia Senegal Gum proves beneficial in the world of skin care and cosmetics, primarily as a moisturizing and thickening agent.
  • Skin care: Acacia Senegal Gum is used in skincare for its hydrating and soothing properties. It forms a protective film on the skin, reducing moisture loss and enhancing hydration. Additionally, it has a tightening effect, making it useful in anti-aging products to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Decorative cosmetics: In cosmetics, Acacia Senegal Gum acts as a natural thickener and stabilizer, improving the texture and consistency of products like foundations, mascaras, and lipsticks. It helps in even application and enhances the longevity of makeup. Its film-forming ability also provides a smooth finish, enhancing the overall appearance

Origin

Acacia Senegal Gum is made from the hardened sap of the Acacia Senegal tree. The sap is harvested by making small cuts in the tree's bark, allowing the sap to ooze out and solidify. After drying, the gum is collected and processed by cleaning and giving it the desired shape.
