Graphene oxide is a two-dimensional honeycomb framework of carbon atoms, with a variety of oxygen functional groups decorating the surfaces. William Blythe has invested in an accelerated R&D programme to ensure that the global demand for consistently high quality graphene oxide can be met. Graphene oxide is supplied as 1% aqueous dispersion (10 mg/mL), a freeze-dried powder and as a flake.
Luxacal™ by William Blythe is a near-infrared absorber designed for “inkless” digital printing. It is an active material for the absorption of radiation in the near-infrared wavelength range, for example in the production of energy-efficient windows. Its extensive expertise in hydrothermal synthesis to produce a range of nano-sized doped tungsten oxides that are ideal for selected applications in coatings and renewable energy. Luxacal™ can control absorption in the UV, visible and NIR by varying the dopants and dopant ratios to deliver bespoke products.
Flamtard T by William Blythe is a non-zinc containing flame-retardant synergist and smoke suppressant designed for flame retardant paints. It offers tin-based chemical functionality and is ideal for applications where zinc ions are not permitted or desired. It is thermally stable (no weight loss) up to 220°C. At higher temperatures (400-600°C) calcium and tin ions can be volatilized or liberated from their structure to exert catalytic activity.
