Aluminium Stearate by Pratham Metchem is an aluminum salt of stearic acid. It acts as a water repellent agent and hydrophobic agent making it useful to be used as a waterproofing agent in paint industry. Also acts as a thickening agent in the production of varnishes and lacquers. It is a white colored powder and dissolves well in vegetable oils on heating and if high concentration is used, on cooling gelling is seen. Aluminium Stearate is insoluble in water, alcohol and ether however, soluble in glycol, alkali, BTX and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Zinc Stearate is zinc salt of stearic acid by Pratham Stearchem. It acts as a gloss imparting agent and a grinding agent. It repels water (hydrophobic) and appears as a white colored powder. It is insoluble in water, but dissolves well in aromatic compounds like benzene and chlorinated hydrocarbons on heating. Zinc Stearate is insoluble in alcohol as well as in ethers and does not contain any electrolyte.
Iron oxide by Pratham Stearchem is an inorganic pigment that acts as a dye or colorant in various prefabricated concrete parts and architectural products and materials. It is directly added into cement to color up various indoor and outdoor cement surfaces, i.e. walls, terraces, ceilings, pillars, corridors, roads, car-park, stairs, stations, etc., as well as various building ceramic and glazed ceramics. Also applicable to various coatings and protective materials, including water exterior coating and powder coatings, as well as various oil paints, such as epoxy, alkyd, amidogen, and some other primer and finish paints. Iron oxide can also be used in toy paints, decorative paints, furniture lacquers, electrophoretic paints and enameled paints.
