Polymerized gum rosin with low odor, dark color and high softening point can partially substitute maleic resins. Offers some advantages due to its high solution viscosity. Found to be completely soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, ethyl acetate and most part of ketones, slightly soluble in alcohols, aliphatic hydrocarbons and insoluble in water. Recommended applications include primers and inks.
