Oltchim, founded in 1966 and headquartered in Râmnicu Vâlcea, Romania, is a major chemical producer specializing in chlor-alkali, oxo-alcohols, polyols, and polymers. With extensive facilities, it supplies intermediates and resins for coatings, plastics, and construction, emphasizing regional supply and quality. For the coatings industry, Oltchim offers polyols, plasticizers, and oxo-alcohols (e.g., 2-ethylhexanol, butanol). These serve as building blocks for alkyds, polyurethanes, and plasticized coatings, providing flexibility, drying, and film properties in architectural and industrial formulations.

Iso-Butanol

Iso-Butanol by Oltchim acts as a solvent. It is an organic mono-constituent substance. Iso-Butanol is a colorless liquid, with a characteristic odor. It is mixed with air, within 1.45 to 11.25% vol. limits to form explosive mixtures. Used in the nitro-cellulose and alkyd resin based varnishes. Iso-Butanol is also used for urea and phenolic resin based varnishes.

PETOL® 56-2 LM

PETOL® 56-2 LM by Oltchim is poly (propylene oxide) homopolymer (PPG). It is used as a lubricant and defoamer. It is also used as viscosity reducer and flexibleness agent for epoxy resins. PETOL® 56-2 LM is suitable for use in coatings.
