About FRX polymers

FRX Polymers, founded in 2007 and headquartered in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA, is an innovative leader in halogen-free, flame-retardant polymers. Specializing in polyphosphonates (Nofia®), it supplies sustainable additives and resins for demanding applications in coatings, electronics, and textiles. For the coatings industry, FRX Polymers offers polyphosphonate flame retardants and additives. These provide high flame resistance, transparency, low smoke, and compatibility in intumescent, protective, and specialty coatings while meeting stringent environmental standards.

Nofia® OL3001

Nofia® OL3001 by FRX polymers is a phosphorus-based flame retardant. It contains phenolic end groups suitable for flame retarding thermoset resins such as unsaturated polyesters, epoxy, polyurethane and polyurea. Nofia® OL3001 is transparent and is highly soluble in the typical solvents used in thermoset resin processing. It is insoluble in water and hexane. Used in protective coatings.

Nofia® W2000 EX

Nofia® W2000 EX by FRX polymers acts as a water-based, non-halogenated flame retardant. Designed for low volatile VOC, water-based textile coatings including synthetic leathers for automotive interiors, home furnishing, tents and tarpaulins, and fire-proof applications. Shows very good compatibility with various water-based polymers including polyurethane dispersions. When added to PUD coatings, it forms a fully transparent film with low haze as well as soft touch and feel. In halogen-free tents/tarpaulins and fireproof clothing, it does not alter the coating to be seamlessly welded and passes all the high-water pressure resistance tests as well as the jungle humidity test. Nofia® W2000 EX-based products pass stringent flame-retardant tests like CPAI-84 for FR resistant tents, ASTM 6413 vertical burn test for flame resistance of textiles and Chinese GB/T 27630-201X standard.
