Compound based on polydimethyl siloxane oil and silica. Acts as a defoamer. It has the characteristic of being easy to disperse in most foaming mediums. Silcolapse® 416 is self-dispersing; prior dilution is unnecessary to disperse it in foaming mediums. The product’s very low viscosity enables its use with automated injection devices. This anti-foam is effective at low doses, of around 1 to 100 mg per kg of substance to be defoamed. It is chemically inert with regards to the substance to be defoamed; it therefore does not alter is properties. Used in inks and varnishes. Non-ionic aqueous emulsion based on polydimethylsiloxane oil. It has 30% active matter content and is recommended for the prevention, control or elimination of foam in aqueous systems. It is a multi-purpose, it therefore has applications in all types of industries that are faced with problems of controlling problem foams in aqueous systems, at all pH’s. It can be used as delivered, or pre-diluted in water or in the aqueous system to be defoamed. Its low dose efficiency, of around 10 to 1000 mg per kg of system to be defoamed. It is chemically inert with regards to the substance to be defoamed therefore leaving its properties unchanged. Has good heat stability and can be heated to 120°C for 1 hour without modification of its characteristics or performance levels. Used in varnishes.
