RHOBARR™ 320 Barrier Dispersion by Dow is an aqueous acid-modified polyolefin dispersion recommended for paper barrier coating applications. It can be used to provide a hot and cold liquid water barrier typically needed for cup stock and water vapor resistance. It also provides a medium barrier against oil and grease in typical food packaging applications with excellent heat sealability. It combines the performance of high-molecular-weight thermoplastics with the application advantages of high-solids waterborne dispersions. This base dispersion can be formulated with rheology modifiers, waxes and other components as required, forming a resistant coating upon proper thermal curing. RHOBARR™ 320 Barrier Dispersion reduces landfill waste and lowers impacts from global warming, smog and acidification by up to 60% vs traditional paper cup coatings.
