PARALOID™ AU-608X by Dow is an acrylic polyol in xylene. It contains 60% non-volatile content. It is hydroxyl functional isocyanate-reactive acrylic resin. Coatings based on PARALOID™ AU-608X resin, retains gloss and tint, thereby reducing the need to repaint, maintains film integrity when exposed to corrosive chemicals, provides long-lasting protection because of abrasion and crack resistance and cure at low temperatures. PARALOID™ AU-608B by Dow is an acrylic polyol in n-butyl acetate. It contains 62% non-volatile content. It is hydroxyl-functional isocyanate-reactive acrylic resin. Coatings based on PARALOID™ AU-608B resin retains gloss and tint, thereby reducing the need to repaint, maintain film integrity when exposed to corrosive chemicals, provide long-lasting protection because of abrasion and crack resistance, and cure at low temperatures. PARALOID™ AU-608S by Dow is an acrylic polyol in acetate/toluene solvent in the ratio of 65/35. It contains 62% non-volatile content. It is a hydroxyl-functional isocyanate-reactive acrylic resin. Coatings based on PARALOID™ AU-608S resin retain gloss and tint, thereby reducing the need to repaint, maintain film integrity when exposed to corrosive chemicals, provide long-lasting protection because of abrasion and crack resistance, and cure at low temperatures. PARALOID™ AU-1166 by Dow is an acrylic polyol in n-butyl acetate. Provides high solids, low-VOC, good alkali and acid resistance, acrylic systems with an excellent balance of dry time and pot life. In addition, urethane coatings based on PARALOID™ AU-1166 are produced economically due to the low isocyanate demand. It is extremely versatile when used in conjunction with Dow's PARALOID Reactive Modifier QM-1007M. PARALOID™ B-56 Resin (100%) by Dow Chemical is an acrylic resin. It is designed for use in the lower VOC concrete sealer/paint. It meets the need for a product with minimum application solids of 25% and viscosity suitable for application with standard low-shear deck spraying equipment. This application performance may be accomplished with a variety of solvent choices, even those with higher flash points (above 100°F), at VOC levels calculated between 400 - 700 grams / liter. PARALOID™ B-56 Resin (100%) by Dow Chemical is suitable for general metal applications, plastics coatings, and as a letdown (in combination with nitrocellulose) resin in gravure inks. Broad resin compatibility and wide solvent use potential increase the market appeal for PARALOID™ B-56 Resin (100%). PARALOID™ A-646 Themoplastic Solution Resin (45%) by Dow Chemical is a very hard methyl methacrylate polymer supplied at 45% solids in methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). It is a lower molecular weight analog of PARALOID™ A-101 Thermoplastic Solution Resin (40%). It has excellent adhesion to plastic substrates and primer coats. Offers fast drying, durablity, and has excellent resistance to water and salt spray. The lower molecular weight of PARALOID™ A-646 Thermoplastic Solution Resin (45%) allows for higher solids formulations. Coatings based on PARALOID™ A-646 Thermoplastic Solution Resin (45%) are also lower in viscosity for higher gloss and better reflow than PARALOID™ A-101 Thermoplastic Solution Resin (40%). PARALOID™ A-646 Thermoplastic Solution Resin (45%) is recommended for clear coatings for metal and wood, gravure printing inks, and barrier coatings for plastic. PARALOID™ XR-34 (50%) by Dow Chemical is a MMA/BMA copolymer in xylene. It is a thermoplastic solution resin. It is an effective pigment dispersant. PARALOID™ XR-34 (50%) by Dow Chemical may also be blended with alkyds or nitrocellulose to improve the drying speed, gasoline resistance, and durability characteristics of the coating. It also provides significant upgrades to the gloss and hardness of other acrylic resins and other film formers when used as the grinding medium. It is supplied at 50% solids in xylene. PARALOID™ B-67 (45%) by Dow Chemical is an IBMA polymer. It is an alkyd-compatible acrylic resin designed to have good compatibility with long-oil alkyds. The addition of PARALOID™ B-67 (45%) to alkyds, oils, or varnishes produces coatings of improved hardness, faster drying speed, better color and gloss retention, and improved hold out and brushing characteristics. PARALOID™ B-67 (45%) is the most water resistant of all the PARALOID resins. It is supplied as a 45% solution in VM&P naphtha/xylene. A solid grade is also available. PARALOID™ A-21 Themoplastic Solution Resin (30%) by Dow Chemical is a methyl methacrylate thermoplastic acrylic resin with enhanced adhesion properties. It is provided as a 30% solution in a toluene/butanol system. The polymer is also available in a solid grade form. Lacquers formulated with PARALOID™ A-21 Thermoplastic Solution Resin (30%) possess excellent intercoat adhesion, hardness, and outdoor durability. PARALOID™ A-21 Thermoplastic Solution Resin (30%) will air-dry rapidly to give clear, colorless films that have excellent resistance to yellowing. Used in lacquers, vinyl and metal clear coatings, gravure inks and overprint varnishes, top coats for plastic, coatings for aircraft and auto refinishing. PARALOID™ B-99 (50%) by Dow Chemical is a MMA/BMA copolymer in xylene/toluene (70/30). It is a thermoplastic solution resin. It is an effective pigment dispersant. PARALOID™ B-99 (50%) by Dow Chemical may also be blended with alkyds or nitrocellulose to improve the drying speed, gasoline resistance, and durability characteristics of the coating. It also provides significant upgrades to the gloss and hardness of other acrylic resins and other film formers when used as the grinding medium. It is also available as a solid grade—PARALOID B-99N.
