Kelzan® Xanthan Gum

Kelzan® Xanthan Gum by CP Kelco is xanthan gum. Acts as a hydrophilic colloid to thicken, suspend and stabilize water-based systems. It is a high molecular weight, anionic polysaccharide produced in a pure culture fermentation process. Possesses high viscosity at low concentrations, extreme pseudoplasticity (high viscosity under low shear, but low viscosity under high shear) and very good long-term temperature stability. Exhibits shear stability, very good long-term pH stability, efficiency in suspension (use level generally below 0.5%-often below 0.3%) and compatibility with high salt concentrations. Kelzan® Xanthan Gum is used in water-based undercoats, primers and sealers, textured paints, foundry coatings.
