COBALT OCTOATE by Arihant Metallica is an active surface drier and oxidation catalyst. It is often combined with other auxiliary driers to provide uniform drying. As it is used in small quantity, it minimizes discoloration in paints & enamels as compared with other driers.<br> <ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It prevents atmospheric humidity from entering paint films, increasing gloss and reducing brittleness.</li> <li>This drier is a universal drier, which is essential in all media.</li> <li>Its deep blue color counteracts the yellow of oils and resins, enhancing whiteness.</li> <li>It is used in solvent and water-borne coatings and printing inks.</li> <li>Recommended dosage level of COBALT OCTOATE is 0.05 to 0.5%.</li></ul>

ZINC OCTOATE

ZINC OCTOATE by Arihant Metallica is an auxiliary drier used in conjunction with redox metals. It is to keep the film “open” by retarding surface dry, thus permitting hardening through out & preventing surface wrinkling, particularly in cobalt containing films & enamels. It is a powerful wetting and dispersing agent & when incorporated early in formulation, it greatly reduces the time of mixing & grinding. Because of the extremely light color, it can be added without discoloring the film. ZINC OCTOATE is suitable for solvent and water-borne coatings.

LEAD OCTOATE

LEAD OCTOATE by Arihant Metallica is a through drier used as active or top drier. It promotes hard & through drying throughout the film & also increases flexibility, toughness & durability of the film. It can cause precipitation in the film as it reacts with unreacted pthalic anhydride of alkyd resin which may cause haziness & loss of gloss. In order to avoid this, it is advisable to add calcium octoate first which acts as emulsifier & improves the pigment dispersing & wetting properties.<br> <ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It also improves the water & salt resistance of the film making it useful to rust preventive coating.</li> <li>LEAD OCTOATE is recommended for printing ink.</li></ul>
