Chroma-chem® UCD® 1702V by Vibrantz Technologies (formerly Chromaflo) is a conductive carbon black pigment dispersion. The colorant vehicle consists of a low-molecular-weight acrylic resin dissolved in propylene glycol monomethyl ether (PM) acetate. The tinting strength of this colorant is controlled to ±2% of the standard.
  • The low molecular weight of its vehicle i.e. non-functional methacrylate polymer helps to ensure full development of pigment strength while providing a rheological profile suited to automated dispensers.
  • It exhibits light fastness as well as acid- and alkali resistance.
  • It is compatible with most coating systems based on acrylic, nitrocellulose, alkyd, polyester, epoxy, epoxy ester, alkyd urea, alkyd melamine, urethane, polyester isocyanate and vinyl.
  • It is also compatible with most aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, ethers, ketones, and reactive diluents.
  • It is thixotropic, which makes it resistant to separation by settling or syneresis.
  • It is suitable for solvent-borne coatings.
  • It is used in automotive OEM, concrete protection, general industrial finishes, marine and protective coatings.
  • Chroma-chem® UCD® 1702V has a shelf life of 3 years.
