Maleic acid resin. It is a kind of rosin resin made through the addition reaction of gum rosin with maleic anhydride followed by the esterification with glycerol or pentaerythritol. It exhibits a stable luster, good heat stability and strong adhesive power. Provides improvement in the paint film's hardness, gloss and rubbing property. Possesses compatibility with phenol, polyesters, nitro compounds, PU and benzene. Shows insolubility in alcoholic solvents. Used in traffic paints.
