KR-500 by Shin-Etsu is a high molecular weight, methyl-based, silicone oligomer. It imparts weatherability and provides good heat-, wear- & water resistance. It offers improved water repellency, flexibility & adhesion, high hardness and room-temperature curability. It is used together with water-based or solvent-based acrylic resin. It shows medium degree of polymerization. It is recommended for heavy-duty anticorrosion, exterior building (chemical plant), floor coating and automotive paint (car, train). It is listed in TSCA. The dosage level of KR-500 is 10-20%.
