Butyl Dioxitol™ by Shell is a high boiling, colorless, stable, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether. Used in the surface coating industry for a variety of purposes including solvent for epoxies, nitrocelluloses, acrylics and alkyds, flow improver in water-based baked finishes and coalescing agent in emulsion paints. Butyl Dioxitol™ is also used in printing inks. Possesses mild odor and good solvency power for nitrocellulose.
