Terasperse® 2685 by Pflaumer Brothers is a polymeric pigment dispersing- and wetting agent. It is designed for both organic and inorganic pigments including organic reds and red iron oxides for a wide variety of water-based systems. It offers reduced surface tension, high pigment/binder ratios, compatibility with a wide variety of resins, and a lower level of grinding resin with both efficiency and formulating flexibility.
  • It helps to provide stable dispersions in water based latex systems, urethanes, water-reducible and water-dispersible alkyd and polyester formulations for both air-dry and baking applications, as well as water-based epoxy-amine systems.
  • It is used in flexo ink applications to improve appearance, adhesion, low viscosity and shear stability.
  • It offers excellent color strength and gloss stability on aging of dispersions.
  • Its well-balanced surface-active functionality provides an excellent combination of hydrophilic and hydrophobic attributes, allowing the formulator to optimize the dispersion of almost all pigments and extenders, including such difficult-to-disperse pigments as phthalo blue, phthalo green and carbon black.
  • Recommended dosage level of Terasperse® 2685 is 5% to 15% by total weight for maximum effectiveness in dispersing pigments and 10% to 30% when used as the sole grinding resin in mill bases.
