Terasperse® 2250

Terasperse® 2250 by Pflaumer Brothers acts as a dispersing- and wetting agent. It reduces the formation of craters, fisheyes, pinholes and orange peel in water-based coatings & flexo inks and promote flow & leveling. It is versatile and can be used in place of some surfactants and wetting agents in the formulation, particularly those that may be water sensitive, and in applications where substrate wetting and adhesion is important.

• It is a high-performance grinding vehicle for both organic and inorganic pigments (organic reds and red iron oxides) for a wide variety of systems including urethanes, acrylics and epoxies.
• It offers high pigment/binder ratios, compatibility with a wide variety of resins and a lower level of grinding resin with both efficiency and formulating flexibility.
• It contributes to a smooth film, water reducible and water-dispersible alkyd and polyester formulations for both air-dry and baking applications with improved performance.
• Its well-balanced surface-active functionality provides an excellent combination of hydrophilic and hydrophobic attributes, allowing the formulator to optimize the dispersion of almost all pigments and extenders, including such difficult-to-disperse pigments as phthalo blue, phthalo green and carbon black.
• Recommended dosage level is 5% to 9% by total weight depending on the pigments used and other dispersants and vehicles utilized.
