UV-3039 by MPI Chemie is a liquid cyanoacrylate UV absorber. It prevents the oxidation, chain fission, uncontrolled recombinations and cross-linking reactions that are caused by photo-oxidation. It dissipates the absorbed light energy from UV rays as heat by reversible intramolecular proton transfer. UV-3039 imparts excellent light stability to a variety of polymers. It shows good compatibility with plasticizers. It reduces the absorption of UV rays by the polymer matrix and hence reduces the rate of weathering.
