Preventol® D 12 by LANXESS is in-can preservative based on isothiazolinones and (ethylenedioxy)dimethanol. It is used for the preservative of aqueous paints and coatings. This additive is effective for the protection of industrial water-based products against the attack of microorganisms. Preventol® D 12 provides a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity against bacteria, mold fungi and yeasts. It is distinguished by a relatively rapid onset of action. Therefore, microbial growth and release of enzymes is effectively inhibited in paints. It is stable over pH range of 2-10. The shelf life of this product is 1 year.
