Preventol® BM 10 by LANXESS is VOC-, CMIT-, formaldehyde- & solvent-free, in-can preservative based on benzisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone. It is used for the preservation of aqueous paints & coatings, paper coatings and inks. This additive offers a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, particularly against bacteria. It displays alkaline stability up to pH 10 and processing temperature up to atleast 60°C. It possesses good compatibility. Preventol® BM 10 is free of bi-valent metals and contains no organic solvents. It is used in the preservation of low-emission interior wall paints according to RAL-UZ 102. The shelf life of this product is one year.
