Preventol® BIT IT by LANXESS is formaldehyde-free, in-can preservative based on benzisothiazolinone and monovalent-stabilized isothiazolinones. It is used for the preservation of aqueous coatings. It is developed to enable H317 free preservation as an alternative to MIT based preservatives. The optimized ratio allows using this combination for products in accordance to Ecolabel and Blue Angel. Preventol® BIT IT offers broad spectrum of activity against bacteria, mold fungi and yeasts. It shows alkaline stability up to pH 10 and thermal stability up to 60°C. It contains no organic solvents and does not add to the VOC content of the products it protects. It is suitable for low emission interior paints. The shelf life of this product is one year.
