K-FLEX® 500 by LANXESS (previously Emerald Kalama Chemical) is an ultra-low-VOC coalescent. It offers stronger, better-coalesced films with superior gloss, clarity and hardness development. Provides good scrub-, corrosion-, salt fog-, dirt pick-up- and blocking resistance. It is a blend of dipropylene glycol dibenzoate and diethylene glycol dibenzoate. It has excellent compatibility with polar polymers such as polyvinyl acetate. Designed for use in coating industry and helps to meet the most stringent VOC regulations. It optimizes the excellent performance of K-FLEX® DP with improved handling, due to its low-temperature flexibility. K-FLEX® 500 is highly recommended for nitrocellulosic & acrylic lacquers and is also effective in latex paints and industrial coatings. It is non-phthalate, non-SVHC and REACH compliant and is listed in FDA 21 CFR 175.105-components of coatings.
