Supplied byLamberti- Last Updated on Apr 15, 2026

ESACOTE® PU 148 by Lamberti is an anionic aliphatic copolymer dispersion based on polyether polyurethane and acrylic esters. It can be used as binder for clear and pigmented coatings. It provides excellent film formation properties, including flow, levelling, hardness development, and high gloss with good color retention. It delivers strong mechanical and chemical resistance. It offers good elasticity on flexible substrates and ensures good surface receptivity.
  • It is a multipurpose resin that can be used on various substrates and applications.
  • It can be used as a metallization primer in flexible packaging applications.
  • It is suitable for metal coating formulations for pretreatment on substrates such as galvalume, galvanized iron, aluminium, or cold-rolled steel.
  • It can serve as a wood topcoat, offering great brush ability and good overall chemical resistance.
  • It can also function as an architectural topcoat for 2K flooring on concrete, with adhesion promoters used to improve performance.
  • It requires the use of a primer to improve adherence on poor porous substrates.
  • It has starting-point formulations available through sales representatives.
  • It can be used as a sole binder or in combination with other water-based resins, though a preliminary compatibility check is recommended.
  • It needs a certain quantity of co-solvent to achieve proper film formation.
  • It can be combined with water-dispersible polyisocyanates, polyaziridines, or carbodiimide crosslinkers to enhance overall properties.
  • ESACOTE® PU 148 has a shelf life of 12 months.
