Magnesium salt of an aromatic sulfonic acid. Acts as a corrosion inhibitor. Improves corrosion resistance by passivating the metal and improves water resistance by providing a barrier effect & reducing water permeation. Exhibits good in-can viscosity stability. Offers synergistic results when used in combination with anti-corrosive pigments such as strontium zinc phosphosilicate and barium metaborate. Applicable for aqueous air dry and thermoset coatings, waterborne primers, general industrial and maintenance coatings. Recommended usage levels include 1-3% based on the total weight of paint if used as the sole anti-corrosive agent, and 25-50% of the total anti-corrosive pigment loading when used in combination with other types of corrosion inhibiting pigments.
