Nacorr® 1551

Supplied byKing Industries- Last Updated on Nov 16, 2023

Zinc salt of an aromatic sulfonic acid. Acts as a corrosion inhibitor. Improves corrosion resistance by passivating the metal and improves water resistance by providing a barrier effect & reducing water permeation. Enhances cure rate of amino crosslinked systems. Exhibits good in-can viscosity stability and promotes pigment dispersion when a small amount is used in the grind. Reduces grind time, increases pigment loading, and improves color strength & gloss properties. Offers synergistic results when used in combination with anti-corrosive pigments. Applicable for non-aqueous, air dry & thermoset coatings, primers, general industrial and maintenance type solvent-based coatings. It is listed with TSCA, DSL, EEC, EINECS, MITI, AICS, ECL, and PICCS. Recommended usage levels include 1-3% based on the total weight of paint if used as the sole anti-corrosive agent, and 25-50% of the total anti-corrosive pigment loading when used in combination with other types of corrosion inhibiting pigments.
