Kane Ace™ MX-553 by Kaneka is an easy to handle toughening agent and liquid impact modifier based on cycloaliphatic epoxy. It offers highly improved strength, fracture toughness, consistent morphology and endurance without losing the heat resistant characteristics of thermoset resins. It exhibits T-peel strength, lap shear strength, no Tg depression and low ionic impurities. It provides low viscosity compared to other existing tougheners and wide cure window. The dispersed core-shell rubber type is polybutadiene rubber. Kane Ace™ MX-553 is designed for coatings.
