ALKONAT® L 80 by Indorama Ventures Public Company is lauryl alcohol 8 ethylene oxide (EO). Acts as a non-ionic surfactant, dispersing agent as well as wetting agent. It is an excellent surface tension reducer which is generally unaffected by hard water ions. Compatible with a wide range of solvents and non-ionic, anionic, amphoteric as well as cationic surfactants.
  • It maintains its chemical as well as physical stability in alkaline as well as acid medium, and under varying temperature conditions.
  • It is derived from the lauryl alkyl chain and its hydrophilic character is dependent on the ethylene oxide chain.
  • By increasing the degree of ethoxylation, the hydrophilic nature of the molecule is increased (higher HLB) modifying its solubility in water along with other properties such as foaming, emulsification, detergency and wettability.
  • It has a lipophilic nature and 44% carbon derived from renewable resources. Used in varnish applications.
  • ALKONAT® L 80 is used in polymerization in emulsions, pigment concentrates, color pastes, water-based paints and printing ink.
