Sillitin® N 87 by Hoffmann Mineral acts as a functional filler. It is a natural combination of corpuscular silica and lamellar kaolinite, which can be used on its own or combined with other extenders or flatting agents. It is used in solvent-based, solvent-free and water-based systems. Suitable for primers & fillers, varnishes, exterior & interior emulsion-, silicate- & industrial paints, and wood- & foil coatings.
  • It is quick-drying and exhibits excellent dispersion properties & spacer effect in pigments.
  • It achieves good transparency with a slight yellow tinge in unpigmented coatings.
  • It possesses high- solids content & abrasion resistance and a very good flatting effect.
  • It is weathering- & scratch-resistant and has relatively low- yield point, abrasiveness & tendency to settle.
  • It offers a high filling ratio, good wet edge strength and breathability.
  • Sillitin® N 87 complies with the standards on basic foodstuffs of the BfR and FDA.
  • The recommended metering level is up to 55% depending on the intended application.
