Defom 5500 by Elementis is a bubble releasing, modified polysiloxane-based anti-foaming agent for solvent-based coatings, paints and inks. It exhibits levelling and gloss in the film and improved flowability. It can be used to reduce fish-eyes, pinholes and crater defects.
- The generated CO2 gas during reaction of polyisocyanate in the paint film can be easily released.
- It is incorporated before grinding or processing to achieve optimum effect.
- The recommended dosage level is 0.1-0.5% based on total formulation.
- Defom 5500 has a shelf life of 18 months.
