Catacure KC

Supplied byElementis- Last Updated on Apr 15, 2024

Catacure KC by Elementis is a blocked curing catalyst used in baking paints especially for fully alkylated melamines which need strong catalyst. It can either lower baking temperature or shorten baking time. When added in baking paint, Catacure KC, compared to unblocked P-TSA, shows better storage stability, lower viscosity, less gelation tendency.
  • It exhibits lower deblocking temperature(130-150°C), i.e., lower baking temperature compared to other amine salts of P-TSA.
  • It shows better over-baking yellowing resistance than other amine salt.
  • It is used in solvent based and waterborne acrylic/ HMMM paints and inks.
  • Recommended dosage level is 1-4% based on total formulation.
  • Catacure KC has a shelf life of 18 months.
