Catacure KB by Elementis is a acidic polymer-based curing catalyst used in butylated melamine baking paint. It demonstrates catalytic function when baking temperature is higher than 70°C. It shows good storage stability without causing gelling. Due to its polymeric composition, it will not migrate, which is often found with conventional sulfonic acid, from paint film.
- When using Catacure KB, same paint film property is achieved by either lowering baking temperature at same baking time, or reducing baking time at same baking temperature.
- It saves operation cost and speeds up production rate.
- Recommended dosage level is 1-3%.
- It has a shelf life of 18 months.
