ACRYSOL™ RM-8W by Dow is a non-ionic APEO-free, solvent-free, hydrophobically modified ethylene oxide urethane (HEUR) rheology modifier. It can be used as a co-thickener in many types of formulations for attaining a desired balance of low and high shear viscosities. It allows the formulation of paints with an excellent balance between flow and sag.
- It is resistant to spatter and microbial attack and can be used over a wide pH range.
- It can be used in combination with a high-shear builder such as ACRYSOL™ RM-2020NPR Rheology Modifier to reach a desired balance of high and low shear viscosity in flat through gloss formulations.
- It is used for low odor, low VOC formulations, interior/exterior paints and high gloss paints.
- ACRYSOL™ RM-8W is also used for high gloss paints, water-based architectural and industrial coatings.
- Other applications include exterior insulation finish systems (EIFS), industrial baking enamels and general industrial finishes.
