ACRYSOL™ RM-7 by Dow is an APEO-free, solvent-free, hydrophobically-modified alkali-soluble (HASE) rheology modifier. It offers a much more Newtonian rheology profile than cellulosic thickeners, enabling lower viscosity in low-shear conditions and higher viscosity in high-shear conditions. It is used over wide range of pH, easy to handle and improved gloss development versus HEC.
- It offers reduced levels for comparable rheology, excellent spatter resistance and broad latex compatibility.
- Exhibits good flow/leveling, film build properties and has utility with all binder types.
- It is well suited to use with 100% acrylic polymer emulsions being developed for low-VOC, non-flat waterborne paints.
- ACRYSOL™ RM-7 is used in interior and exterior paints, water-based architectural and industrial coatings, exterior insulation finish systems (EIFS) and general industrial finishes.
