Coapur™ XS 12

Coapur™ XS 12 distributed by DKSH is a pure, HEUR associative polyurethane thickener. It can be used sole or in combination either with other polyurethane thickeners or with any type of rheology modifiers such as acrylic or cellulosic thickeners, acting at low shear rates. It is APEO-, heavy metal-, solvent- free grade.

• It is designed to interact with the binder of the formulation, in order to control the rheology selectively at high shear rates with the most limited impact at low and medium shear rates.
• It offers excellent color acceptance, compatibility, easy handling, and is ready for post-addition use.
• During storage, it ensures syneresis resistance and viscosity stability.
• In application, it provides good film build, brushability, rollability, and spatter resistance, as well as temperature and tinting resistance.
• The resulting film exhibits gloss and water resistance.
• It helps match the highest coating quality possible for water-based formulations by achieving the best flow and leveling.
• ICoapur™ XS 12 is used in architectural coating, graphic arts, industrial coating, textile & leather coating and inks.
• Recommended dosage level is 0.5-3% as sole thickener in lacquers, gloss and semi-gloss dispersion paints and 0.5-2% combined with a medium and low shear effective thickener both based on solids content.
• It has a shelf life of 1 year.
