Bayhydrol® UV 2689/1

Bayhydrol® UV 2689/1 by Covestro is an anionic, UV-curable polyurethane dispersion. It can be easily matted using common and can combined with Bayhydur® or other hardeners to formulate "dual cure" waterborne UV coatings. It is supplied as approximately 42% solids dispersion in water and can be thinned with water. Bayhydrol® UV 2689/1 is suitable for use in the formulation of industrial waterborne UV clear and pigmented coatings. Main applications are plastic- and wood coatings. High gloss coatings can also be achieved. The addition of 1.0 to 2.5 weight% photoinitiator relative to binder has proven effective for initiation. Recommended storage temperature is 5º-30ºC. It has a shelf life of six months.
