Coapur™ 520 W by Coatex (Arkema Group) is a non-ionic, water-soluble, solvent- and APEO-free polyurethane thickener. Designed for water-based eggshell to gloss paints, VAE-based paints and matt paints combined with another thickener. Offers an excellent compromise between tool load, film build, leveling and brush drag. Provides excellent coating properties due to its high associative effectiveness with every kind of binders. It can be used sole or in combination with low shear rheology modifiers. It helps increase viscosities at high shear rates and in a less extent low shear rate viscosities. Coapur™ 520 W is a cost-effective, easy to handle product and is highly effective in low to medium PVC formulations. It has a shelf life of 12 months.
