Genapol® PF 20 by Clariant is an APEO-free, low VOC wetting agent and dispersing agent. It is used as nonionic emulsifier for the emulsion polymerization of monomers like acrylates, styrene-acrylates and vinyl acetate. It is a block copolymer of propylene oxide and ethylene oxide, containing 20% w/w ethylene oxide. Genapol® PF 20 is used in aqueous coatings, emulsion paints and pigment pastes & preparations. This grade is readily biodegradable, hazard label-free, easy to handle and maintains low viscosity of polymer emulsion at different shear rates. It offers enhanced electrolyte stability and improved shelf life (high freeze thaw stability). It is Ecolabel-compliant and FDA approved. Its recommended dosage in paint is 0.1-0.3%.
