DISPERBYK® -163 by BYK acts as a wetting and dispersing agent for solvent-borne coatings. It is a solution of modified polyurethane. Deflocculates pigments through steric stabilization of the pigments. Provides equal electrical charge to pigments. Increases the transparency and hiding power of the pigments. Offers improved pigment wetting, gloss and color strength. Reduces viscosity, improves leveling and allows high pigment loading. Exhibits wider compatibility in various binders. Used in general industrial coatings, automotive refinish, automotive /OEM, coil coatings, wood coatings, architectural coatings, and pigment concentrates. It is suitable for food contact printing inks. Its recommended dosage for inorganic pigments is 15-20%, for titanium dioxide is 4-5%, for organic pigments is 30-60% and for carbon blacks is 80-100%. The shelf life of DISPERBYK® -163 is 60 months. REACH compliant.
