CERATIX® 8463 by BYK acts as a rheological additive for solvent-borne effect coatings. It is a mixture of ethylene-vinylacetate-copolymer wax and ethylene-acrylic acid-copolymer wax. Offers improved orientation of effect pigments (aluminum, mica etc). Enhances flip-flop effect. Reduces sedimentation tendency during storage. Exhibits improved pipe circulation stability. Possesses improved D.O.I. of clear coats. Prevents large scale clouding effect. Reduces short wave defects (mottling, Benard cells). CERATIX® 8463 is used in solvent-borne base coats and one coat metallic top coats.
